Instana is looking for a Technical Account Manager (TAM) who will serve as the technical champion for its enterprise customers. The TAM provides personalized, proactive support and guidance and develops deep relationships with assigned accounts to understand their environment as well as technical and business goals. Additionally, as their internal advocate, the TAM works closely with Engineering, Product Management and the rest of the Customer Success Team to influence prioritization and resource utilization.

Areas of Responsibility Include:

  • Develop onboarding and best practices training content
  • Drive adoption and business goal attainment
  • Build relationships with assigned accounts
  • Present strategy content and roadmap
  • Be an internal customer advocate for overcoming adoption blockers
  • Provide paid training and architectural assistance

Skills and Experience Needed:

  • Strong technical background and customer orientation
  • Experience with Application Performance Management (APM)
  • Experience with one or more of the following: Java, .Net, Ruby, C, Python
  • Strong Linux skills
  • Knowledge of containers and microservice application architecture and networking
  • Strong presentation as well as written and verbal communication skills
  • Superior organizational and project management skills
  • BS in Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Ability to Travel
  • Fluent in Japanese and English.
