Instana is looking for a Java backend architect to work from one of our office locations in Solingen, Munich or Novi Sad, or remote from one of the following locations: Germany, The Netherlands, Serbia, UK and Ireland.
At Instana, we process and analyze millions of messages per second in order to provide actionable APM intelligence to our rapidly expanding customer base. This constant stream of telemetry creates a number of challenges that must be met with operational agility, as well as strong architecture, design and development.
As a member of the team focused on issue detection, alerting, and root cause analysis you will work with reactive Java stream processing (Kafka) and distributed data stores (Cassandra, ClickHouse, ElasticSearch). Moreover, you will come across a wide range of technologies, like infrastructure platforms (Kubernetes, Azure, AWS, ...), tracing and instrumentation, data science, as well as our rich Web UI (React).
As the team’s software architect, you will work with the team to define non-functional requirements, evaluate architectural approaches, and document design decisions and trade-offs. You will also implement new features, and get your hands dirty across the entire software stack. Strong coding skills are a requirement.
We offer competitive salary, remote work, free choice of the operating system, regular offsite events (once possible again), and interesting work in a fast-growing environment.
